Ms. Jessica Orapallo
Ms. Orapallo is thrilled to join the HUES team as a Student Assistance Specialist. With over a decade of experience working with youth, most recently as a school social worker in Brooklyn, NY, Ms. Orapallo brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to her role. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from La Salle University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Committed to creating a safe and supportive learning environment, Ms. Orapallo strives to empower students to express themselves and reach their full potential. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors.
Mrs. Jenna Ruditsky
With a career spanning over a decade in education, Mrs. Ruditsky began her journey as a high school history and psychology teacher in 2006. After completing her Master of Science in Counseling from Monmouth University, Mrs. Ruditsky joined the East Brunswick schools in March of 2012, initially as a high school counselor before transitioning to the role of student assistance counselor. She has held the position of Middlesex County Co-chair for Student Assistance Professionals since 2019. Additionally, as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor, Mrs. Ruditsky has been in private practice since 2016.
Mrs. Ruditsky firmly believes in recognizing and addressing the unique needs of each student by providing personalized counseling services. Her commitment lies in providing comprehensive support to ensure that every student receives the guidance and encouragement they need to conquer challenges and achieve success. With enthusiasm, Mrs. Ruditsky eagerly looks forward to embarking on the upcoming school year at Hammarskjold Upper Elementary School.
Mr. Miguel Saldana
My name is Miguel Saldana and I am a school counselor with experience in both counseling and education. I completed my internship at East Brunswick High School, where I participated in individual and group counseling sessions, focusing on mindfulness, coping skills, and stress management, while collaborating with teachers to monitor academic progress and assist students with college preparation using platforms like Naviance, Common App and Genesis. My practicum at Churchill Jr. High School involved providing individual and group counseling, managing behavior intervention plans, and facilitating educational goals. At the Community Wellness and Counseling Center at Kean University, I offered virtual and crisis counseling, addressing issues from academic difficulties to identity concerns. Previously, I worked at Hackensack Meridian Carrier Clinic as a Residential Counselor and Shift Leader, supervising and supporting adolescent males with complex mental health and behavioral needs. Additionally, I have experience in early childhood education from my role at Children of America. I hold a B.A in Psychology and Spanish and a M.A. in School Counseling from Kean University. I’m continuing my studies at Monmouth University to obtain my Student Assistance Counselor certificate. I’m also a former East Brunswick graduate -Go Bears! In my free time I enjoy spending time with my kids, family and going to the beach. I look forward to contributing my expertise and working collaboratively with all of you.
