Attendance Office
Parents can report absences online in the Genesis Parent Portal. Please note: Only parents can enter absences. Students cannot do this in their own Genesis account.
How to report an absence:
1. Go to https://parents.ebnet.org and log in to the Parent Portal.
2. On the left menu, click ATTENDANCE → NOTIFY OFFICE.
3. From the drop-down menu, select the type of absence.
4. Enter the date your child will be absent.
5. If the absence is for more than one day, enter the last day in the UP THROUGH field.
6. If you have more than one child, check the box next to the child who will be absent.
7. If you have a doctor’s note or other document, you may upload it by clicking CHOOSE FILES.
Write the reason for the absence and any extra information, then click SUBMIT TO OFFICE- Your name and relationship
- Your child's first and last name (please spell it clearly)
- Grade level
- Date of your child's absence
- Reason for the absence
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT IF AN ABSENCE IS NOT REPORTED, YOU WILL RECEIVE A CALL.
Absence Notes: When the student returns to school, an absence note must be sent in, regardless of whether the absence was called in or not. The note must be submitted to the Attendance Office within five(5) school days of the student's return to school or the absence will remain unexcused.
If a physician was seen and a note was provided, please send it in. Otherwise, a signed note from a parent/legal guardian is acceptable and necessary to possibly excuse the absence. Please include the student's full name, grade, dates and reason for the absence. Students may drop off notes in the Attendance Office. Parents may email notes to the Attendance Office, or upload them in the parent portal. The email must be received from a parent/guardian email account identified in Genesis.
*Following an absence of three(3) or more days, a physician's note must be submitted.
*Remember: Students must be fever free for a minimum of 24 hours without medication before returning to school.
